That said, FL Studio and Reason can operate inside Project5 V 2.0 via Rewire if you still needed them (for some unkown reason.except to use Reason's Maelstrom). But if you have no idea what I am talking about and simply use Maelstrom's presets.then Project5 COMPLETELY eliminates the need and/or want of both packages. Well, unless you love grainular synthesis and can't live without Maelstrom. Not to say you can't do the same things, they just take me longer to do, and my creativity is killed trying to piece together my ideas.įunny thing is, Project5 completely replaces the need for either FL or Reason. Vice versa too I suppose, but you can't have everything.
Cubase and Logic are nice too, but lack some of the features I love in FL. It's a powerful, cheap and easy to use sequencer that can easily handle the vast magority of what you'll ever need it for. You can't even send MIDI data out of the program, and you have to use another sequencer like FL Studio or Cubase and link it via software called Rewire if you want to use its sounds which is annoying to say the least.įor this reason (pun intended) I'd steer clear of it as a sequencer. For allot of people this if fine since it is quite a pollished product, but I hate the inflexibility of not being able to use other soft-synths and effects. Well Resaon attempts to create an entire studio in a box, and pretty well limits you to that box.
